About Simon

Simon, a former Nantwich Grammar School pupil, graduated from Nottingham University in l983. He completed his Solicitors Finals in l984 and was articled at Hall & Co in Crewe until qualifying as a Solicitor in l986. Simon practised in Cheshire in his former Cheshire firm where he became a partner until he joined the firm of Rigbys as a Partner in l996.

Simon is Head of the Private Client Department and the Conveyancing Department. His areas of specialism includes all private client work, Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection and Property work.

Simon is a dedicated professional and his approach is one where he likes to keep things straight forward, minimising jargon. He is a very practical lawyer and his style is relaxed and informal. He has excellent working relationships with his clients who appreciate his dignified, practical yet relaxed/informal style.

Recent work

Recently helped an elderly client who having made previous Lasting Powers of Attorney decided to revoke them and appoint a family member in place of the former attorney. This involved dealing with other solicitors, the former attorney and the Office of the Public Guardian with the eventual result that the client and their family had peace of mind and assets were protected.

Completed the purchase of a high value property for clients where for commercial reasons the transaction had to put under contract in a short time. There were several complicating factors involving separate parties, agricultural land and title issues. The transaction was completed on time and the title registered.

Advised clients following the death of a family member on the terms of the will. The clients were advised to enter into a deed of variation which had the effect of setting up a trust in the will after the person had died. This provided a mechanism for surplus assets to be held for the future benefit of other family members protecting the interests of another generation.
